Welcome
from Pastor Jim Farrer...
Greetings!
Welcome to the Christ Church website! It is our hope that you
will take a look around and see what our community is all about
as well as get a sense of how much God loves you. As for us,
we are a group of ordinary folks who are slowly but surely being
transformed by the extra-ordinary presence of God that dwells
in our hearts and connects us to one another.
We welcome
you to worship with us on Sunday mornings or at any other time
we gather for worship. On Sundays, we worship God in unique
and creative ways utilizing current technology and meaningful
music to express our joy and thankfulness for God’s steadfast
love.
Finally,
whether ONLINE or in PERSON, come as you are - whether you are
someone who has known Jesus Christ for years, someone who hardly
knows anything about faith, or someone seeking peace and love
for the first time. In worship, come dressed up or dressed down.
Come ready to jump right in the middle of things or desiring
to sit on the edge for as long as you need to do so. Come as
you are because God loves you where you are and is always ready
to lead you and all of us further into our journey with God
where we can become more like Jesus and more deeply the person
God has called us to be. Won’t you come and join us on
this incredible journey?

Your
First Visit
- Getting
to the Church
- Christ
Church is located at the corner of 18th St. and 350 South
in Lafayette. There are road entrances from both 18th St.
and 350 S. The main building entrances are located on the
South side of the building, although anywhere that has a
door will get you inside!
- How
should I dress?
- There
is absolutely no dress code or expectation at Christ Church.
Some people decide to dress up for worship, others come as
they are in their T-shirts, Jeans and flip-flops. Don't worry
a bit about it and come however is most comfortable or appropriate
for you.
- Do
I need to bring anything?
- Not
necessarily, however, you are certainly welcome to bring
your own Bible if you would like to follow along with the
morning's scripture or if you would like to sit in on a
Bible study during Sunday School.
- When
should I get there?
- Sunday
services begin at 8:15, 9:45, and 11 a.m. It is always a
good idea to get to Christ Church ten minutes before your
worship time to allow for parking.
- What
is your worship like?
- Click
here for descriptions and details of our worship services.
- What
about my kids?
- During
the Service -
The 8:15 service and the 11:00 service have a Children's
Time where all children are invited forward for a story.
After the message, children ages 3 through Pre-K are dismissed
to Enrichment (In Education Wing). Children in grades K-2
are dismissed to Junior Church (in Education Wing). All
other children (or any children not desiring to go to class)
may return to their seats in the sanctuary. The 9:45 service
does NOT have a Children's Time or a time for your children
to be dismissed. All children may either remain in the service
the entire time or attend Children's Sunday School from
9:45-10:30.
- Nurseries
- Nurseries are available from 8:10a-12:00p for infants
(Rm. 9 of the Main Building) and toddlers (Rm. 23 of Education
Wing). If you are staying for more than one service, you
do NOT have to pick your child/children up from the nurseries
between services.
- Cry
Room
- Small children are welcome in our services. If they become
restless, you may continue to worship with them in the CRY
ROOM at the back of the sanctuary. The service can be seen
and heard.
